When Sridevi And Anil Kapoor Ganged Up Against Boney Kapoor
Bollywood trivias are great to hear or read. Isn’t it? Here’s an incident where Sridevi and Anil Kapoor were on one side while Boney Kapoor was on the other. Did the matter settle? If yes, who relented? Find out
We all remember
Judaai – the 1997 film starring Sridevi, Anil Kapoor and Urmila Matondkar. Not
only was the film a blockbuster and became the seventh highest grossing film of
that year, its music score topped charts. However, did you know that the track
Pyaar Pyaar Karte Karte might not have been a part of the venture had Boney
Kapoor (the film’s producer) gone by Sridevi and Anil Kapoor’s suggestion?
Well,
SpotboyE.com has it that Anil and Sridevi were of the firm opinion that the
song was not needed in Judaai, however, Boney was convinced that it would be a
good addition to the story. What followed was a series of discussions and
arguments after which, the producer took the final call and, as is known, the
song became one of the most popular tracks of the film. It resonates with music
lovers even today.
Judaai revolves
around a middle class couple Kajal (Sridevi) and Raj (Anil). While Raj is
content with his life, Kajal wants more and persistently yearns for wealth.
Then enters Janhvi, his boss’ daughter who falls head over heels in love with
Raj. Lured by wealth, Kajal asks Raj to marry her as the latter promises a huge
sum of money in exchange. Little does she know the problems that await her.
Well, all we can say is, we are glad Boney went by his gut and Pyaar Pyaar
Karte Karte was included in the sound track. Interestingly, Judaai marked Sridevi's
final film appearance before she took a sabbatical of 15 years from
acting.
